Happy Birthday Maddux

This is our crazy Mad Man! He is wearing his PJ's and his sisters bike helmet. His dad didn't like him riding Averie's old pink bike so he custom made it into a trike dirt bike.

Maddux was born May 9, 2007. The girls were so excited to see him. I was really nervous because I didn't know what to do with a baby boy. Averie was almost 3 and Malie was almost 5.

This is my favorite picture of him with his red curly hair. It's not curly anymore but still just as red.

We took these pictures over Labor day in Parowan. I almost used this for our Christmas card just because it was perfect of the kids. Malie trying to keep Maddux calm and smile, and Averie was mad and refused to smile that whole day. Maddux was so chubby. Look at those legs.

This is him at Hogle Zoo last summer. He loved the animals and has such an easy and fun personality but if you make him mad watch out because his red head temper will get you.
We love you Maddux. You are such a joy.

Back to School

I know the last time I blogged I said that I was going to be so lazy this summer well my plans have changed. I have decided to get my masters. I start June 11 and it will take me 13 months. 13 months of hell but it will be worth it in the end. Also our accident prone child Averie broke her other collar bone on Sunday. How many 3 year old's have broken both collar bones and split their forehead open twice. I swear she needs to live in a bubble! Anyway we are still on the count down to summer even though it will include homework and attending class.

Countdown to Summer Vacation!!!!!

I can't wait for Summer vacation. I can't wait to not worry about 40 5 year old's and if they are reading at the right level and if they are able to produce a sentence using spaces and punctuation, getting lessons together for the next day and centers each week, working like crazy and stressing to get them all on grade level then coming home and cleaning, cooking, laundry, shopping, homework with Malie and Averie, and being a mother and a wife. My family won't know what to do with home cooked meal. They are a little sick of cereal for dinner and nuggets or corn dogs. At the end of every year I feel like I have ran a marathon and I can see the finish line I just have to find the energy to finish it out. I am already planning what we are going to do, swim lessons for the girls, getting Maddux in a big bed and getting rid of the binky, what books I will read, camping at the cabin, sister trip to California, and watching my kids play and fight all day and not scrambling like crazy every morning to get to work by 8:00. I am so blessed to have 2 months off to be an at home mom. It helps me to appreciate those few days I have with them before the marathon begins again.

Well we made it home

We are back from our trip and we had a great time. Wayne is threatening to sell the house and move to Cabo and do boat tours for a living. I posted a few pictures of some of our favorite things. We are already planning another trip back so let us know if you are up for it and would like to come.

Do they love us or their grandparents more?

This is the question I asked myself the other night. We leave for our trip on Friday and the kids can hardly wait. They are going to their grandparents for the week. I am torn between the excitement of the trip and how sad I am not to see my kids for a week. Apparently they just can't wait for us to leave. This should make me happy to know they will have fun while we are gone but I don't know if it does. They are even praying that the week goes by fast so they can go to Parowan! Sometimes I think that they really would move in with them if we gave them the option.

$200 FOR FREE!!

I have to tell you about the craziest thing that happened to Heather and I on Saturday night. Heather invited me to fill in for her friend at a bunco tournament in Mesquite (girls night out heck yea). So we went down and had dinner and did some gambling before. Heather and I love to gamble at the penny slots and the dollar tables we are way to cheap to go higher. We decided to try the 21 table and when we sat down 2 guys were putting down all these $100 bills and getting$100 chips I about died. I told Heather "do you know how many 5 year old I have to teach and how many hours it takes me to earn that much money and they are gambling it away" CRAZY! Anyways we played $2 at a time they played $400 and I guess some how we were helping them win. I don't understand it but the guy said "Are you guys from St. George" I guess we looked a little out of place. We said yes and kept playing. A few rounds later he threw down 2 $100 dollar chips and said "go have fun with your friends" and walked off. I was dying over it. Seriously who does that!! So I took a picture of them because I know I will never hold one of those again and sent it to Wayne on my phone. Of course he wanted to know what we had to do for the $200 (Nice husband). So we cashed it out and gave the other girls all $20 and spent $10 at the roulette table (Our favorite). It was so much fun. Thanks Heather for the great trip!
